First and foremost, may we suggest this to you: imagine yourself writing this message along with us. This community has been created not only for you but by all of you! Our main intent is for you to feel the cause, aim and purpose of this creative space that is devoted entirely to the whims of your creativity. We have just played the role of materialising this community for creative and inspired people in need of exposure, resources or even just a fun place to discuss their passion with other like-minded individuals.
We aspire to bring a new geometry of perception into the uniqueness of the Mauritian creative field on the local as well as international spectrum.
The Tizil Creative Community is a space for Mauritian creativity to be spotlighted and talent to flourish freely. Talent through great designers, artists, musicians, photographers, fashion designers, illustrators, to mention a few, is yet only contained in a sealed bottle. This bottle is representative of a lack of exposure with the cap being our ego; an ego which is preventing bubbly ideas ready to be hatched from the egg into fantastic creations. Mauritian talent does not need to be “dead as the dodo”*merely because of lack of exposure, sharing, cooperation, respect and acknowledgment of one another. Unless we break our strong ego, we are all staying at the same level.
Now we ask you, how does this ego benefit all of us in any way?
What we want to achieve is to remove that seal and encourage one another to expand our ideas outside the realm of a confined bottle through exposure, open communication, cooperation and acknowledgement of one another’s talent. With time we will surely transform Mauritius into a quality creative hub where all creative minds can express themselves, show their creativity, learn from others, share, grow and inspire.
The Tizil Creative Team has no desire in establishing itself as a leading creative mind in Mauritius. Quite the contrary, we well understand that for this shift of perception in our egoic attitude to happen, it’s truly about the collective creativity of each one of us, not just a one man show. For this reason we have chosen to be known only as the Tizil Creative Team as we would prefer, as part of our mission, to shine the focus onto our aim and mission itself, not our personalities.
We can only think of summing this up by quoting John Lennon – “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”
This community is mostly a fun place to hang around, make friends and network with others in the creative field. Enjoy your time here!
